LAI-BAK BIOGRAPHY: 2011

Lai-Bak (Wendell Wilson). Lai-Bak started the hip-hop movement in Grenada. He attented Presentation Boys College where he formed the group Rydm X. Including Ebi Kagbala and Kevaughn Charles Founder of Full Moon Records. They had a No.1 Song "Who got the Flow" on Grenada Ysfm and also recorded commercials for local business which was aired on all stations. With new group "DML" they reached No.2 on Ysfm with "Ghetto Gangsta." Lai-Bak also had one No.1 song reaching the top of the charts for 2 weeks with "It's all with the Attitude" and " Dat nigg Lai-Bak" featuring Karen Phillips reaching No. 2 on Ysfm. Produced and recorded by Andrew Denny at Trevor Friday studio in Springs, where Lai-Bak is also from. Lai-Bak organised and performed at many Concerts, Schools, Shows, Clubs (Foxx Inn, Fantasia 2001, Hibiscus Inn) in St.Georges including Presentation Boys College, Saint Josephs Convent, Grenada Boys Secondary School, Anglican High School. He also shot the first ever Hip Hop music video for "It's all with the Attitude" at Foxx Inn Hotel owned by his uncle Carl "Jumbie" Wilson and Turbo Charge Records with Joie T, Keebo and Peck. Done by Grenada Cablevision. Lai-Bak was also known for trendsetting in the fashion department with all the latest styles and original dressing style. Gaining a following in Grenada amongst peers and younger kids who wanted to Rap. He formed the group "Influence" with friends from PBC and entered them in St. George's biggest Talent show in GBSS with dignitaries seated at the front row including the Bishop and Ministers in government. They was featured in a article in the Informer Newspaper the following week. Lai-Bak is also great friends with Psycho Bob "Ride on" who also contacted Lai-Bak when he (Psycho Bob) returned from Canada, about the buzz he (Lai-Bak) was creating on the radio and streets in Grenada, they then became friends. Lai-Bak also performed with Tallpree in various concerts in Grenada.
After moving to New York Lai-Bak has worked with the likes of Eric Nicks (Universal Records), Steve Manning (Michael Jackson's Publicist), Cynthia Horner (Hip Hop Weekly), Master P (No Limit Records), D'anthony Johnson (Producer/Engineer 2 Pac, Fatal Hussein), Nami (Shabba Ranks former Manager). Lai-Bak has also rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest stars including P.Diddy, Patti Labelle, Naomi Campbell, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Jermaine Dupri, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Jay Z, Tony Bennet, Regis Philbin, Nelly, Ashanti, Jacob the Jeweller, Silk the Shocker, Foxy Brown, Black Rob, Busta Rhymes, Cedric the Entertainer, Fat Joe, Jason Terry (2011 NBA Champ), Jimmy Henchmen and more. Lai-Bak has performed at many Clubs, Showcases & Fashion shows from the Harlem, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Atlanta to New Jersey. He also had radio plays on various stations including 95.9 Fm. Waah Gwan Radio, Last Fm, 105.5 Fm Crossroads Radio, City Suond Fm, Hottcaribbean.com and more. Magazines. He has been featured on Mixtapes from Dj's such as Dj X-clusive, Legendary Dj Ron G, Restricted Zone Maestro Ent, Eternal Etertainment & more. Lai-Bak considers himself a Music Artist as a Rapper, Singer, who is able to do different genres of music.
